What is my approach?
Hello and welcome. I am a BACP Accredited, Integrative Therapist with over twelve years’ experience of working within mental health. This has given me the opportunity to work collaboratively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
My integrative approach means I can draw from a variety of therapeutic models to offer a tailored approach depending on individual need. I also have a special interest in Attachment (how our earliest experiences can impact the way we make relationships with others and the way we feel about ourselves) and Mindfulness (the ability to consciously notice what we are thinking and feeling right in the present moment).
I am a firm believer in the philosophy that given the right conditions, every human being has a vast potential for personal growth and I strive to bring this ethos into all aspects of the therapeutic process. This may be working calmly and compassionately with people in moments of crisis and confusion, empowering individuals to evolve and grow during periods of upheaval and change or supporting those struggling with their mental health or emotional wellbeing.
How can Integrative Therapy help you?
Talking about our life experiences, emotions and beliefs can help us start to understand the events of our past and how they affect us presently so we can make different choices when necessary in the future.
Therapy can help to facilitate the changes which are needed to move forwards. It can provide a supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space in which to share whatever we are dealing with and this can help us gain clarity. It can help us to have a deeper understanding of ourselves and others, as well as developing better strategies for coping with stress and difficulties.
For many this is deeply valuable and can have a long-lasting effect leaving us with the feeling of having completed something worthwhile, perhaps something that has changed our life forever.
How will we work together?
When we meet you can tell me about yourself, and your concerns and we will confirm whether Integrative Therapy is the right approach for you. After six weeks we will have a review to see how you are finding therapy and whether you would like to extend the contract further.
I can offer short-term work of up to 18 weeks or long term, open-ended work depending on what you require.
If you would like to find out more about the approach I offer and how I could help, I am happy to answer any questions and discuss working together in an initial free fifteen-minute online call.
