About Openings 

Openings, a Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling is a co-operative of counselling and psychotherapy practitioners which was founded in 1984 and is based in the centre Bath.

We offer you an opportunity to talk to someone in complete confidence within a peaceful, safe environment

Openings ensures that all the practitioners are trained to a high standard and have suitable experience. All practitioners are required to have a code of ethics which includes professional supervision and a commitment to their ongoing development .

Practitioners at Openings offer a wide choice of therapeutic approaches within a shared set of values based on the integrative approach, which draws on humanistic and transpersonal values.

Memberships & Accreditations

Each therapist is accredited with one or more of the following governing bodies:

UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy)

UKCP holds a national register of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors, to protect the public, and to provide public confidence in the profession they regulate. Only therapists who meet their exacting standards and training requirements can be on their register, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. 

BACP  (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy)

BACP is the leading professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK.  It works to promote the role and relevance of the counselling professions in improving psychological wellbeing and mental health and to develop safe, ethical and competent practice.

British Psychological Society

The British Psychological Society champions psychology, psychologists and the wider psychological professions, supporting members through their careers.

HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council)

HCPC protects the public by regulating 15 health and care professions in the UK
